**Executive summary**
- **What happened:** on 23 September, at Amazon Accelerate 2026 in Seattle, Amazon launched a **Selling Partner plugin** that brings Seller Central and its AI companion, **Seller Assistant**, into **Amazon Quick** and, in beta, **Anthropic's Claude**.
- **Why it matters:** Amazon now officially backs the idea that sellers will run their business from an AI assistant, not only from a dashboard. Reading your sales, stock and listings from Claude becomes free and first-party.
- **Where the limits are:** it is a **beta for US stores**, it works on **one account and one marketplace at a time**, it covers **third-party sellers only** (no Vendor Central) and it has **no advertising**. By design, it will not tell you your margin or give pricing advice.
- **Where Epinium fits:** advertising you can automate, several accounts and marketplaces in one conversation, Vendor Central, Shopify and, in the coming days, your fees and margin per ASIN. Our advice: connect both.

## What Amazon announced at Accelerate 2026

Accelerate is Amazon's yearly seller conference. This year the headline was AI, and it came in three parts.

**1. A smarter Seller Assistant.** According to [Amazon's announcement](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/innovation-at-amazon/seller-assistant-plugin-amazon-quick-claude), the assistant now keeps a **persistent memory** of each seller's pricing patterns, inventory cycles and goals, and that memory follows the seller across Seller Central, Quick and Claude. It also gains **always-on workflows**: tasks such as "alert me if any of my top 10 products drops below four stars and draft a response plan" run around the clock, with guardrails the seller sets beforehand and a full audit trail.

**2. The Selling Partner plugin.** This is the piece that matters most for anyone using AI assistants. It connects the seller's Amazon data (listings, performance metrics, inventory and sales analytics) to outside AI tools, and it can **act**, not just read, always with human approval. It is generally available in Amazon Quick and in **beta in Claude**, for sellers in Amazon's US stores on the Professional plan. International expansion is planned, without a date.

**3. A year of Amazon Quick Plus for free.** Every primary account holder, worldwide, can sign up for 12 months of Quick Plus, plus two co-workers, until 31 December 2026.

The rest of the programme was about operations, and much of it starts in the US: managing eBay, Shopify, TikTok and Walmart orders from Seller Central, Prime delivery on your own website through Multi-Channel Fulfillment, a new Finance workspace, 24-hour payouts by default, and more battery-powered electronics eligible for Amazon Global Logistics ([summary by Seller Essentials](https://selleressentials.com/amazon-accelerate-2026-ai-tools/)).

## What the official MCP actually does

Behind the plugin there is an MCP server and an [open-source agentic toolkit](https://github.com/amzn/selling-partner-agentic-toolkit) that anyone can read. We went through it in detail. In short, it is very good at the **physical and catalogue side** of selling on Amazon:

- **FBA shipments:** around forty operations to plan, pack, place, label and track inbound shipments.
- **Inventory:** days of cover, recommended restock dates and quantities, and forecasts at 7, 30 and 60 days.
- **Listings:** direct edits to price, attributes, images, titles and bullets, with a **validation preview** that shows the result before anything is saved.
- **Listing health:** issues, suppressions, buyability and US category restrictions, with skills to triage them.
- **Seller Assistant** itself, callable from Claude.

Writes are designed with care: read and write are separate tools, and the approval required grows with how hard a change is to undo. Anything permanent or with a cost needs an explicit confirmation showing the amount.

On all of that, Amazon is ahead of any third-party tool, Epinium included, and it makes no sense to compete with it.

## What it leaves out

The toolkit is just as clear about what it will not do:

- **No advertising.** No Sponsored Products, Brands or Display. Amazon has a separate Ads MCP server in open beta, but it brings no optimiser or automation of its own.
- **One account, one marketplace.** The skills tell the assistant not to blend accounts or marketplaces. That works for a single seller in one country; it does not work for an agency, or for a brand selling in Spain, Italy, Germany and France at the same time.
- **Sellers only.** Vendor Central (1P) is out of scope.
- **Amazon only.** Nothing from your own shop or other marketplaces.
- **No margin, no pricing advice.** The toolkit includes a test case that expects the assistant to decline a question about the exact profit margin after fees, and the pricing skills are told to give no guidance in either direction. That is understandable: Amazon collects the fees and runs the marketplace, so it avoids advising sellers on their margin or their prices. But it is also the first question most sellers ask.
- **US first.** Brands selling in Europe have to wait.

## Where Epinium fits

The [Epinium MCP](/en/platform/mcp/) connects the same kind of assistant (Claude or ChatGPT) to your Epinium account. It covers almost exactly the space Amazon leaves empty.

| | Amazon's official MCP | Epinium MCP |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Advertising | No | Reads and writes Sponsored Products campaigns, workflows, the bid optimiser and budgets |
| Accounts and marketplaces | One account and one marketplace per call | Several accounts, agency mode and every connected marketplace |
| Regions | US stores, beta | Every marketplace you connect, Europe included |
| Vendor Central | No | Yes |
| Other channels | No | Shopify connected; WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Mirakl in the coming weeks |
| Fees and margin | Declines by design | Amazon fees, margin before ads and refunds per ASIN (in the coming days) |
| Assistants | Claude (beta) and Amazon Quick | Claude and ChatGPT |
| FBA shipments, inventory forecast, direct listing edits | Yes, and very complete | Not our focus |

We keep a fuller, dated version of this table, criterion by criterion, in [Amazon MCP vs Epinium MCP](/en/amazon-mcp-vs-epinium-mcp/).

Three differences deserve a closer look.

**Advertising you can actually automate.** From Claude you can ask something like *"every Monday, lower bids by 15% on targets with ACOS above 45% and open a task listing what you changed"*, and you get back a workflow that is validated, simulated and **paused** until you turn it on. New campaigns are created paused too, write access depends on two permissions you grant when you create the key, and every change Epinium makes in Amazon stays in a change log for 90 days. We explained how it works in [this week's product update](/en/blog/epinium-updates-mcp-write-workflows/).

**The numbers Amazon will not give you.** In the coming days, Epinium's MCP will also return, per ASIN and per day, the **Amazon fees** (referral, FBA, storage and other), the **margin before advertising** and the **refunds**. Because Epinium also holds your advertising spend from the Ads API, the assistant will be able to put both side by side and tell you which products are profitable once ads are paid for. It is the question Amazon's assistant is designed not to answer.

**Beyond Amazon.** Shopify is already connected, and WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Mirakl are next. Brands rarely live on Amazon alone, and an assistant that only sees one channel only gives half an answer.

## Our advice: connect both

This is not a choice between Amazon and Epinium. If you sell in the US, add Amazon's plugin and let it handle shipments, stock forecasts and listing fixes: it is free and it is first-party. Then connect Epinium for what it does not cover: advertising, automation, several accounts and marketplaces, Vendor Central, your other channels and, very soon, your real margin.

If you sell in Europe, Amazon's plugin is not available to you yet. Today, Epinium is one of the few ways to run your Amazon business from Claude or ChatGPT, with write access, across Spain, Italy, Germany, France and the rest of your marketplaces.

Either way, the direction is clear. Amazon has now confirmed what we have been building towards: the next Seller Central is a conversation. What will set brands apart is the judgement and the data they bring to it.
